The January Bear Jamboree is a festive Talent Development networking event filled with networking opportunities, games, prizes and refreshments. Connect with colleagues you don’t always get to see or to make some new connections across campus. This event is intended to allow staff to unwind, warm up, and be in community together before the new semester is in full swing. Want to learn while building relationships with other university staff? Join SLC’s next session!
Staff Learning Collaborative (SLC) is back! Join us for interactive sessions designed to foster relationships among staff of all backgrounds while creating opportunities to learn in community, utilize University resources, and grow personally and professionally.
Brown Design Workshop (BDW) is Brown’s student-run makerspace, which aims to make the practices of design and creation more collaborative, open, flexible and accessible. BDW is open to anyone who applies for membership (including Brown staff), and members must complete required workshops in order to use specific tools.
Session 2025.1 Brown Design Workshop – Make it Your Own, 11 am - noon OR 1 pm - 2 pm + optional lunch noon - 1 pm at Brown Design Workshop (355 Brook Street). Make a keychain with wood from one of Brown’s iconic elms, while beginning the process of training to use BDW tools on your own.
Session A: 11 am - noon
Session B: 1 pm - 2 pm
Lunch: noon - 1 pm for registered attendees of either session
Each workshop session is limited to 30 participants. Registration closes when full, or on January 27th, whichever comes first. When full, interested staff are encouraged to sign up for the waitlist.
